Layers are something found in an image editing software. What you are trying to do though, can be done in the program now. Simply add the text above or below the image, and use negative margins to place it where you want it to go.

Here's a tool set that i would really, really love to see in the responsive slider where we have control of elements using a timeline and a way to also control the timing of each slide - as a great way to add impact via timing variety....

Content integration from mysql database. This would make it possible to use the form builder to add content to your slider. It would be like a small CMS.
