Does, or how does, a mouse over image viewer such as Eric's here, http://progrower.coffeecup.com/imageviewer.html , work on responsive site? Do they respond different on different mobile platforms (Apple, android, etc.). Anyone have any examples they can share?

Thanks,
Marc

They do work a bit differently as they would need to be touched in order for them to show properly. Since there is no mouse on a cell phone it means there is no mouseovers.

What I would recommend is to open that site on your phone and test it out, and see if it works for you. :)

My page works with my iphone ontouch as the current page stands now.
I can't hear what I'm looking at.

I did try it on my phone, Android, before I posted it. I was not sure how it 'felt' on some of the older versions or Apple. So, in a nut shell, as of now using RLM it might be a bit more work than it is worth? I'm just planning my next move :D

You have to remember, responsive is not meant only for mobile devices. You also have to build for desktops. If it is a feature you want on higher breakpoints I would recommend adding it. If it is however something you feel you can live without, I would say to not include it in the site. As it would save HTTP requests and reduce page load, which helps with SEO. :)

I have to agree with Adam on this. The one thing I like about going responsive is most sites are trimming down their content. This makes their design leaner which should boost their ranking. If you want a bunch of fluff then build two sites and do a redirect.
