Can I add another domain name to point to the same address? So I would have mysite.com and then alsomysite.com for example.

You sure can. You can add as many as you like.

Scott, this is for the previous account I had all the trouble with.

To get into the area to make the name change, I have to do this:

You are unable to modify these settings because you are no longer on Register.com's DNS. Please click "Restore Default DNS Server settings" if you would like to switch back to Register.com's DNS.

Which brings up a warning that "all current DNS servers will be reset to the default register . com DNS servers..."

I don't want to lose the name changes already in place, so I've been afraid to click this reset

If your name servers are not with Register.com any more, then all you do is go to who ever is currently handling your DNS and make the changes there instead. If you do switch it back to Register.com, you will want to copy all your DNS settings from your current provider and put them immediately in Register.com

If you do it quick enough, down time should be pretty minimized.

The name was transferred to Register.com, and shows up in the account with the main domain name.

So we have 'sitename.com' and 'shopname.com'.
If I want to add 'othername.com', it looks like it will reset all names to Reg.com, so nothing will connect to the .coffeecup.com site????

No, that is still something different. sitename.com' and 'shopname.com' are two unique domains. Registering othername.com has no impact on the first two.

The only time this comes into play is if you want shop.sitename.com www.sitename.com and photos.sitename.com

OK, went ahead and clicked it. Now in the @ name thing, there's a box on either side of the domain name. I put the Coffee Cup # in the one after (to replace the number already there and this comes up:

IP address is not valid. Must be of type x.x.x.x where x is 0-255.

Am I supposed to leave the original numbers there and put the CC # in the other box (it has a * instead of a @)?

Leave the @ and then point it to 64.224.11.156 then for www point that to @ and you should be good to go.

It's confusing, 'cause everything is blank. Guess they figure everyone knows you need to type an @ over here and a www over there....
