I messed around a little with S-Drive a few years back, but am not sure if it's evolved more since then, or I just didn't fully understand what it could do.

For example, I've been with the same ISP since around 1992 when I first got on the net. Longer than some of you have been around. Hey, I started off even before THAT, in the late 80's, with these things called "echoes", when the internet was still a DARPA project, I guess. We had BBS forums, where modems would pass messages around in the wee hours, by phone. All using MSDOS.

Anyway, this ISP I'm with charges me $20 a month for email and they used to host a few domains for me, but then started getting cranky about it, after they made the big time and started doing their own fiber and phone services downtown. So now, if I want more than one domain, they want $20 a MONTH instead of just the $20 a year they used to get, per domain, as a host. NO cloud, and I don't think they have that thing called keep alive, or stay awake or something like that, which makes faster connections to my little home business site.

So email and 1 domain now, for $20 a month. I THINK Comcast handles my web connections with their 25 MBPS broadband that we use for phone and streaming? Or does my ISP handle that too?

I've been tempted to switch to Hostgator but they're so weird to deal with, re the technical stuff. But they're more generous with domain hosting.

So anyway, tell me about how S-Drive can fit into all this. I'm a former Electronics Research & Development Technician with an ASEET ( Associate in Science in Electronics Engineering Technology - 1969 ), and have maintained my own PC, my sister's PC here and my own home wifi, so I'm a little tech savvy anyway.

Does S-Drive also take over my email for my domain(s)? Without the old ISP, I won't have email with them anymore.

SDrive has no email capabilities. You'll need to host your email somewhere else. GMail for example:

So you'll still be able to use your same email address/URL (info@mydomain.com, for example).

Not sure what you mean by this? If your site is on an SDrive account, you access it through your SDrive dashboard. Just log in and you're there. Also, you can transfer your domain names to CoffeeCup. Whether you use SDrive for your site or not, CC is a secure and reputable place to have them registered at.

If you don't think SDrive is right for you – you'd rather have your email and multiple domains all in one place, need to have an SSL certificate, want to include custom PHP, etc., there are several highly rated hosts where you can get all you need for under $20/month.
