How can the domain name be made...
Greetings,
Hope someone can help out an absolute newbie .....
Just bought a site which is really for trial purposes to get experience in creating websites and notice the whois domain registration from Coffee Cup has no privacy option as most domain suppliers do.
What i dont want is my name and address splashed all over for anyone to access .....
1. How can the privacy option be added to this account ?
2. Also is there a Coffee Cup forum software available ? By this i mean adding a basic sort of forum which persons can join and post to on the site.
3. Can some months or a year of hosting be paid for in advance ? and how can this be done ?
Each month VISA charge a fee for the transaction which adds up so a long term hosting in advance can avoid this.
Thankyou.

Hiya Stefan,
Dunno most of what you're asking, but about the forum software that's most like a "No, and doubtful there will be in the future." so you should look for something elsewhere.

Hi Stefan ,
Although CC makes a product for this (a password-protected site or pages), SDrive doesn't support it at this time. If you have the Webbie account, you have 3 possible websites. Try naming one of them something weird like 83065zyk3p.coffeecup.com. Then don't add key words or alt text to your test pages.
Have a look here for another safeguard:

For forums, several forum members have recommended Simple Machines (and it's free):

You can pay your web hosting up front rather than month by month. Contact support for help.

Do keep in mind that S-Drive doesn't support forum software as of yet. Right now you cannot install anything that uses PHP and a such which forums need immensely so you'll have to use some other hosting or free forum site for that. So Unfortunately Simple Machines Forums won't be usable on S-Drive.
if you are referring to mydomain.coffeecup.com i guess theres no way
if however your purchased a url through CC and it is for business use your not supposed to make it private, if however it is for private use transfer it out to a registrar then set the privacy with them, and change the cname records to point at your mydomain.coffeecup site

Thanks for that information .... a sensible workaround.

Ah dear, so it's not going to have a happy ending. I wanted to install a photo gallery software plus forum and some HTML pages. If forums are no go then it's a write off

So a solution for the easiest issue exists ..... when it comes to forking out money there's usually a way out isn't there ...... Thanks.

Sorry Stefan, just realized you weren't talking about the site itself but what shows up in Who Is records
Before you transfer to another host, check out their offerings – many include easy to install forums. Make sure they have everything you need up front
