Very happy with coffeecup shopping cart but would like to change the size of the product pictures and get rid of the logo all together.
I will also like to change the whole thing occasionally.
Will I be able to do these changes with designer pro.

Keep it up

Also I would like to change the 'shipping' and 'taxed' for 'postage' and 'Vat'.
Can I do that?

Yes, with the exception of the pictures. Remember though this is DESIGNER pro, so it goes to the design of the cart not the functionality. Your second question goes to the functionality of the cart. There will soon be released a pro version of the cart through which many new features will exist. We do not have a feature list at this time, but very soon.

yeah keep in mind that:

SCD (& Pro) only handles how your site "looks" aesthetically, meaning images for your backgrounds and buttons and placements of your menu and types of menus, font choices and colors, placements of just about everything from product lists to logos and footers and so on. But it doesn't change any of the actual "content" of your site, everything you see in SCD for products, logo name text, category text, and the like, is basically generic text and images and are used only for how you want it to "look" styling around the images and text such as placement and size and color.

SCC (& soon Pro) handles how your shop "functions" as in what products you use, how you word things, what your menu button names are, what images you use for products and pages in the content area, logo name actual text, category actual text, footer actual text, and all that stuff. You've styled it all in SCD, and now here you tell it what you want those styled areas to actually say or show.

I may have banged my head too much, but this all sounds very familiar. :P

Just expanding Eric, just expanding :P I like to try to give as much information as possible at times where SCC and SCD are concerned because new users really do get very confused over what each one is supposed to or not supposed to do :)

You have both been very helpful and a special thanks to Jo Ann for repeating the reply.
I have to read everything twice anyway.

Good job

So is there another software option available now that will allow me to make these changes
and not restrict me in the future?

Hi Richard. The forthcoming pro version will not give you the ability to change the sizes of the product images, as those are currently fixed within the program.

One of the things that can looked at for future versions of the pro cart creator, is perhaps a module to offer user definable images utilising an automatic mouse over zoom for thumbnail images and with user defined automatic watermarking of the larger images. You will find a suggestions thread within the cart creator section and any ideas for features you would like to see can be submitted there. Any ideas to improve the program are always welcome. :)

To be honest I'm not aware of a lot of "software" carts myself, most of them are hosted carts on some hosting services. So far the few that I've tried since I've been messing with SCC and SCD have been sooooo difficult to setup that I wouldn't even consider changing at this point myself. I am hoping that the future will give us a lot more control over the program same as many of the others are, but I also respect the position of CC as they try to wrestle with which codes are safe to open up and which ones will cause problems.

Problems could be caused, as Scott mentioned in another thread I think yesterday, by allowing us to add or change code that might actually conflict with code that belongs to the cart itself and end up breaking our stores. And then of course we'd be all huffy at CC cuz it broke lol. So they are being very careful about what they give us reign over and what they don't. I'm going to assume that bits and pieces will be handed out in control items as they discover what isn't breakable by us and what is.

In the meantime, if you keep your images at a minimum size to start with you'll see that the image quality improves quite a bit. I changed my images from a 600 x 600 size down to a 480 x 480 size and I saw a dramatic improvement in the quality which makes the smaller images (although not what we want) at least bearable as they don't look really grainy. Maybe that will help you too :)

Have something to add? We’d love to hear it!
