Hello everyone,

I am currently working on trying to make a custom shop with no luck. I mean Shopping cart designer is not much of a designer in my opinion. Besides changing color and positions it does not seem to have much versatility on what can be done. It should be more like VSD.

Anyways I am attaching a picture of what I would like my shop to look like. Can this be done in anyway with any of the coffeecup programs?

Any experts here that know? I would really appreciate it if you can point me in the right direction. Thanks!

Hi Carlos,
You can make your design in VSD and then create a basic shop and imbed it in your custom designed site.

I think what your looking for, to accomplish that look, will be set in SCCP. There's several choices for how products show in the shop.

Try my delorean website as an example

I designed it in VSD, and then split the page into three (3) parts, and put them separately in to SCDP as header, main body, and footer (make a fancy footer if you want one)

I did not actually think it can be done and now I am excited. I actually designed that website on VSD. I can make a separate copy and use it as my custom shop?

How would I split the website into the 3 parts? and than add it to SCDP? Would you be so kind in giving me the steps if possible?

OK, if you clone the page ypu want to put into SCDP (ie) new page select home page to copy, idealy name the page like SCDP template, and make it NOT google friendly

Put a solid oblong image behind the whole page (ARANGE > send to back) slightly bigger at bottom, so you can put your curser on it later

Change all the text you want to show on the page to advanced text (convert to image)

Now preview (this one page only) in firefox or other browser

if you right click on that overlapping background, and select view image it should open up in a new window, if it all there save it to a folder in your project, called template .

Now hopefully you have , photoshop or another erditor, you can make three copies, and crop one as the header, crop another as the footer, and crop the centre section as main body background.

save each one as SAVE FOR WEB, to optimise the pixel size

If not add it here, one of us can do it for you.

Theses three are now imported to SCDP header, goes in as logo

Center as main body

Footer as footer

OK, so I tried to follow your instructions but I honestly was not able to figure it out. You said to clone the page and put into SCDP. I tried saving it in VSD but was not able to put it into SCDP.

I am not sure what type of solid oblong image to put or how to do so. I also do not know how to make all the text advanced text.

I am guessing the objective is to be able to save it as a file that is able to be opened in an editing software so it can be cropped and added to SCDP. I tried doing this for several hours and cannot find the way to do it. I did not want to bother you with the same question but do you think you can explain it in more detail. Maybe step by step and in the order they have to be done so I do not get confused. I am sorry for the hassle and really do appreciate your help!

If you select the box triangle circle icon, near top left of VSD, it opens a window with shapes in, select the square.

Lets start with a new blank page to make life simpler

Now drag a box which is equivalent to the size of the content of your main home page, but a little 1/2" longer at the bottom

With the fill tool, make it any colour you like BUT NOT WHITE, I use light grey

Copy the content of your home page onto the front of it

wherever you have text, highlight the paragraph , select the object tool top center of VSD, and tick ALLOW ADVANCED TEXT, next select EFFECT TOOL, tick top box (SHADOW) and move the 3 sliders all the way to the left

what this has done is to convert your text into an image, so like any pictures you have on the page they are similar images.

If you now do a preview of this one page, a browser opens with it displayed, and you should be able to select view image, and then select save image, which once downloaded you can take into your editor to crop into three sections

I would try starting with just a oblong box with any old picture, and a paragraph of text to see if you can follow that through as a trial run.

That 1/2" at the bottom should enable you to put your curser on it, so you select all the page as one image, rather than each individual image separately.
