I'm looking around in Pro for an elementary feature: an auto-generated email, personalized by me, that is sent to a buyer after every purchase. You know, to thank the buyer, summarize the purchase, provide a link to downloadable items, re-state terms and conditions, add some up-sell or cross-sell options...like that. Where is it hiding?

That feature is unfortunately not available Peter. You could go and make a request in the shopping cart suggestion forum.

Thanks for the reply. I am stunned that such a basic ability was overlooked. It means, in effect, that users of the Shopping Cart are pretty much slaves to it. So much for "open all night" vending of downloadable items items and such.

Wow that's a huge oversight. For me anyway, it renders Shopping Cart Pro useless. My fault - should have checked for the feature in the demo. An example of what happens when one assumes .

Still, CoffeeCup ought to bannerize this glaring deficit as a service to vendors of downloadable items.

Their adding features all the time. Don't give them a hard time for something that's not there. We can pick apart any application for it's faults no matter who developed it. I use three different programs to edit and make videos because I like how each one handles a certain aspect of the design process. I've made suggestions to each of the programs developers and complement them on a great job so far. The one advantage with CC is they listen and have added features when enough users request it.

It's all coming so hang in there if you've already made the purchase. Unfortunately as you already mentioned, it's something you should have checked out before purchasing it, but it's coming.

CC are good at listening, they did not intend doing digital downloads, its designed for physical products but given time no doubt it will come with time

Again, thanks all for the replies. Love that Benny Hill. He's so young in that clip. I had a headmaster who used to love giving that little ASS U ME speech, several times a year. I learned the lesson which is why I downloaded the demo and checked for a "downloadable content" feature which IS present and documented. My fatal ASS UMPTION was reckoning that since the option was included, CC would certainly know that customers don't want to wait for downloadable content and that the global expectation for downloadable content is that it is immediately available. Oi!!! 'ello!!! With a design oversight like that, you'd think CC wasn't in the downloadable content business.

Nevertheless, I accept blame for the oversight of not scouring the feature to its very last byte.
