Just wondering if anyone out there knew an estimated (or maybe even official) ETA for cart creator pro?
After I recently lost a save file for one of my stores i can no longer edit or add to its contents so the only option i had was to leave it online untill i decided to start from scratch again and rebuild it with a whole new theme too. Since ths store had a lot of products it is not a small task so i want to do it as well as possible. I was just wondering if it was worth waiting or not since i would like to createa store with the newer software and updated features.
This brings me to my next question - Will the pro version be able to open save files from the standard version? I guess there are a lot of people out there who are worrying about the same thing. So if I start to build a new store and theme now will I later be able to open and edit with the pro version, and if so will the new features be added to my store or will i only be able to use the standard features even though the software in use is the pro version.
Im hoping it arrives soon as i am quite looking forward to the sub cats which is desperately important for my shop as its large and my items are quite mixed making it awkward for customers to quickly locate the exact part they require without jumbling through hundereds of listings. I just realy realy hope that the new sub cats feature is not extremely limited like only one or 2 sub cats per standard cat for example.

No official release date is set. It is in beta testing.

No release date announced just yet, but it is in BETA testing as pointed out by Tom.

As far as whether to update/work on your current store or wait... Why wait? Even if the Pro version comes out late next week (not saying it will ) You still have done well for yourself to keep your storefront up to date for your potential customer base.

And YES, the storefronts designed with standard version of SCC WILL BE able to be accessed by the PRO version. As far as backward compatibility? Haven't heard any discussion on that issue.
