The best way that I have learned to make an interesting home page is to actually build the page like a normal html page with an html editor. Then make your links on the home page link to the different areas of your shopping cart. This way you have the flexibility of design that comes with html and css and your not restriction by the limited options of the shopping cart. :D

Jo Ann must of missed this one. :D

Depends on your HTML skills emmab. If you're up to the task I would definitely suggest it. As would Eric I'm sure lol, (sorry Eric, was just embellishing more on the subject is all, didn't mean to make it sound like you didn't already mention external pages). It's just the way that worked best for me and some others. I only suggest it because the Shopping Cart Creator is very clumsy and many times maddening and impossible to get to align images in the pages or products or anything at all. And if you try to do text you have to re-style it within the HTML code and you can't seem to do text and images in the HTML code of the SCC at the same time, it seems to only want to style one or the other, it's just really clumsy on that part yet.

But... using external pages pretty much takes all that clumsiness away and since the SCC is already setup to allow for external pages, why not give it a try I guess.

Thanks i'm using the code <img src="NAMEOFMYIMAGE.jpg" width=" " height=" " border=" " alt="" /> but when i preview my image it does not show correctly and i get a blank picture with a red cross in the corner any ideas?

You haven't specified a folder name so that is why your images aren't showing and they should show up in Preview.

try the code:
<img src="folder name/nameofmyimage.jpg" width=" " height=" " border=" " alt="" />
I know you believe you understand what you think I said...but I am not sure you realize that what you heard is not exactly what I meant.

If like me you cannot cope with HTML, CC visual site designer is great for this

And in the shopping cart set up under pages / homepage you can put in the url where the CC VSD home pages are.

If you are using cc shopping cart designer, AS WELL its possible to get the two to match up

Thats how my shop was done ::: link in signature
Started using CC VSD in January 2009, I don't do HTML code, Sales from CC site exceeding expectations taken me out of semi-retirement

tassitiger has a good point. There is a folder that CC Shopping Cart Creator called 'images'. You need to put any of your images there. When you publish your cart it will be uploaded for you. If you're pointing to a url on the web then you shouldn't have a problem.
