Disappointment - Post ID 79718
I purchased the Google checkout feature when I purchased the shopping cart software. Now I learn that I cannot use it from Canada. What a shame. I wish I had known.
Why not just ask us? We are only an e-mail away. If I ever have a question about an application, I always e-mail the software developer before I make the purchase. This way I know 100% what I am getting. We can definitely do the same for you.
Not having a disclaimer on our Website has nothing to do with trying to make more money. We do not do that for the PayPal module either, which is also not supported in all countries.

Okay
Why blame coffeecup, this is a google checkout issue, the first step you should have taken was to obtain a google checkout account before leaping in and purchasing the module. Gateway operators can and do turn down account applications for many reasons.

Adding a note to our Website really would not make sense Eric. Each merchant can change their policies at any given time. Maintaining a list of countries each merchant works with could go out of date very quickly. PayPal for example could add or delete a country off their list today and we would not know anything about it. The same goes for Google Checkout and Authorize.net
We are not blaming the customer in any way. It is just up to the consumer to know which merchants may or may not work in their country and to do a little research a head of time. We are dealing with money after all, and it is a good idea to know how you will be paid.

Can I make a small point. First, no matter which ecommerce software (offering google checkout option) you had purchased google Checkout would not have worked in Canada!
Seconldy, if you check out other ecommerce software sites you will NOT find a notice anywhere informing you which payment methods work in which countries. Best always to check the what payment method works in your own country online with the merchant you plan to use.
Finally, one day google checkout will work in Canada and they you will have a use for the google module you purchased.
