Having problems determing my 'remote...
Hi Guys ..
Sorry I'm a newbie .. but my 1st site is just about done
However I am having difficulty determing what my REmote Folder should say.
My files are stored on a folder in my PC, titled : (sorry about the spelling error)
D:\Coffe Cup\Barrier_Standscomau_files
When I put this address into the Shop Settings > Server > Remoter Setting there's an error.
I know there's something simple I'm not doing ?
Thanks .. Mark B

The "remote" server is the web server not your local PC. If you are putting the cart in the root of the web hosting directory structure, the path will just be /
If you have have a website in the root directory and put your shop in a folder called store, than the path will be /store/
If you have have a website in the root directory and put your shop in a folder called store, than the path will be /store/
CoffeeCup... Yeah, they are the best!
Also be sure to account for if you have a public_html folder. If you do then you need to put it as:
/public_html/ = for the "site" root folder
/public_html/store = subfolder of the site directory
/public_html/ = for the "site" root folder
/public_html/store = subfolder of the site directory
Thanks guys ..
However I still am having a problem.
My isp has provided me with a httpdocs folder.
Should I be using ...
/barrierstands.com.au/httpdocs/ ?
I tried just using "/" .. but there was a ccdata error
Many thanks

hiya Mark,
if your isp gave you httpdocs then you would just put in:
/httpdocs/shopfoldernamehere/

/httpdocs/shopfoldernamehere/
Hi Jo Ann
I'm trying .. really am.
Have put this into my remote folder :
/barrierstands.com.au/httpdocs/CowdControlBarrierStands.scc/
(www.barrierstands.com.au .. being my url) .. No luck.
Have also tried :
/ftp.barrierstands.com.au/httpdocs/CowdControlBarrierStands.scc/
No luck
I have not finalised my payment module yet .. would that be an issue ?

If you want the shop to be what is seen when the user goes to http://www.barrierstands.com.au/ then you should have the following in your remote folder:
/httpdocs/
NOTHING ELSE.
Thanks Kelsey
Your tip was perfect .. site uploaded no problems
However .. when I go to my url (barrierstands.com.au) .. I still see my isp's index page .. not my shop
Any thoughts
Really appreciated ..

Hi Guys
Just to complete the information circle ...
My isp provider had their default index.html file in the httpdocs folder.
The isp provider advised me just to delete it .. which I did .. and up popped my coffeecup designed site. I'm still building it with payment modules at the moment...
Thanks for the advice and help.
