Help! Google Webmaster Tools...
Hi everyone
I am hoping someone who is a bit more techie than myself can assist me before I go insane!!
I have registered my site with google webmaster tools, but can't get past the verification part.
I can't use the upload a html file option as I am uploading to some webspace I have under one domain and web-forwarding to my new site www.clickclickboutique.co.uk. Therefore anything I upload doesn't come up as being part of clickclickboutique and google won't accept it.
I can't use the DNS option either as I have no idea what to do with it!
So that leaves the meta tag option - I have been advised to add this into the index.inc.php file which I did but google couldn't find it, despite putting it in several different places! Can someone please help??
Fingers crossed someone can save my sanity!!

I did manage to use the upload file method from within my webhosting server, but I used the code on the home page for yahoo verification. As advised by another helpful member here, they told me to put it in the footer (where your copyright etc goes), and it worked there. Hope it works out for you.
Thanks for the link Monica - I was given that as part of a support query but still can't get it to work
I have got the index.inc.php file but there is no line that matches what is described. I tried putting the meta tag in loads of different places in the file but it still kept coming back saying unable to verify.
Bren - thanks, will keep trying!!

Monica, the link you provided describes how to add Google Analytics code to a shop; the poster is referring to Google Webmaster Tools. Also, the method described in the post isn't necessary as posting the Analytics code in the footer within SCC works.
QDC, I'm a little confused. It appears you have set up an index page at http://www.clickclickboutique.co.uk/ which uses an iframe that points to http://www.charmy.co.uk/shop/. I'm thinking you should simply be able to upload the Google-provided html file via FTP to the first domain name and not the second. Also, why use the iframe? Why not simply create a shop and upload it to the clickclickboutique domain?

Because I own webspace under charmy.co.uk but only the domain for clickclickboutique.co.uk - therefore the site is uploaded to charmy.co.uk and forwards.
I am sorting out hosting for clickclickboutique.co.uk though so hopefully will be the end of the problems.
