Looks like I should have waited for the "Pro" version. I keep all of my inventory in an Access database so record keeping isn't the issue for me. I just don't want someone to be able to buy more than 1 of an item or to have someone buy it when it is already sold.

Not so Margot. You should be able to upgrade to the pro version of cart creator when it's released. It will have quite a few new features incorporated.

Hi Scott, a great number of us have been waiting well over a year for the shopping cart creator to have inventory managment enabled.

There's a lot of stuff sold that is "one of a kind" items --- HOW can we get this MUCH NEEDED feature moved UP the Priority list and out to us that are missing out! We can't sit by our computers all day in order to remove every item that would be bought...
PLEASE, if you will consider a concerted focus on this much needed feature -- thanks!

Hiya Lar,

The Pro version will have that feature when it's released or at some point after. It's in beta at the moment so it should be out soon so hang in there, it will definitely be worth the wait :)

Hello Lar. As Jo Ann has pointed out, inventory control is already being developed as part of the pro version of cart creator and that version is currently undergoing beta testing by myself and others to ensure its stability before release onto the market. There are a few minor little bugs and operational enhancements that are currently being addressed within the pro version, which all need to be done before the product is released onto the general market.

I am sure that there will be a formal announcement made on the new version of Cart Creator in the very near future.

I am just now designing my shopping site. (I also have the designer pro) I too make OOAK items and didn't realize that if someone buys an item that the item doesn't disappear from the shop. This is not good. Ideally, I would like to either be able to have the item removed, or have the 'buy now' button say 'sold' and leave the item in the shop. As an alternative in the meantime, is there a way to stamp a 'sold' sign over the photo and just leave the listing up?

Hiya Marilyn,

You can manually put a stamp on your graphics if you want to, but I've found that the best way to assure that something isn't purchased when it's out of stock is to unpublish that item completely so it doesn't show on the site.

Rest assured though that this feature will be addressed in the Pro version which is in beta at this time. Stay tuned for that future release as I'm sure what you need will be taken care of with that particular version of the cart creator upgrade :)

Maybe a workaround until the feature is released is just to add a disclaimer that if the item happens to be out of stock you will issue a refund, and this is very simple with Paypal.

If anyone is selling so much stock that they would be run off their feet keeping track of things can you let me know what it is so I can sell it too :D
I know you believe you understand what you think I said...but I am not sure you realize that what you heard is not exactly what I meant.
