It's not necessarily that they're selling a bunch of a particular item... More likely, their items are one off items (one of a kind) or something of that nature. This becomes a very valid issue with them in rather short order. Great suggestion for a temporary work around! Hopefully it won't be much longer for PRO's release.

People sell a wide diversity of products using Cart Creator and many of those items such as original artwork, designer dresses, exclusive jewellery creations are 'one off' items that cannot usually be repeated. Likewise shop owners also experience delays from wholesalers and suppliers and those working from home often keep minimal stock levels due to space restrictions etc.

Now that the Christmas rush is over, apart from people selling toboggans, skates or snow shovels, I doubt if anyone is truly rushed off their feet at the moment. :)

okay...no more light hearted comments from me :/
I know you believe you understand what you think I said...but I am not sure you realize that what you heard is not exactly what I meant.

Tassie,
No, please, don't let it bother you! The rest of us like you light hearted - or not, as the mood happens to strike you - ;)

I am considering using CC Shopping Cart Creator, but I also have lots of OOAK items. I see the response to no inventory management feature is " the best way to assure that something isn't purchased when it's out of stock is to unpublish that item completely so it doesn't show on the site."
How easy is that to do?
The current program I am using requires the entire site to be taken down, edited and then reloaded - a process of several hours work.
Thanks for any advice,
mary

If I understand your question correctly, it is very easy to do. Since the cart program has the ftp built in. all that is required is to take the item out and republish. Takes only a matter of seconds. Its a great program. However, the pro version will have much more flexibility :D

Is the pro version available now? If not, is there an expected publish date?
What about pricing on the pro version? Will there be an upgrade option?
THanks for all the answers - need to make an intelligent decision :)

The pro version is in the final stages before its deployment to the public. Hopefully this month that will be released. In the meantime what most of us have done is purchased the current version and then will upgrade when the pro comes out. :D

Hiya warpdrivecom,

You'll definitely be happy when the Pro version comes out, and don't forget that there will be a nice discount to those of us already owning Shopping Cart Creator and any version of Shopping Cart Designer. Take the SCC for a test spin and see if you like it.

As for the publishing/unpublishing it's as simple as a toggle. You don't have to even remove the item from the cart at all, you just hit the little tiny "world" looking icon that stands for published or unpublished so that it's greyed out and then Publish your shop again and it will make the changes.

The beautiful thing about the SCC is that it doesn't upload "all" the site again, only the changes. Very slick working :)

Have something to add? We’d love to hear it!
