I think it is probably in there as someone from the Coffeecup team was an avid watcher of the 'Lost In Space' tv series when they were a child.

"Warning Will Robinson - Warning!!!!"

Looking at it from fresh eyes, the PayPal warning message probably does look a bit intimidating to potential customers and certainly does have little practical benefit in retrospect.

Hey guys,

I was wondering, since paypal has another service called: "Website Payments Pro" that process credit cards directly on your website, can coffeecup shopping cart be used with this paypal service and maybe the warning message won't show because it is not necessary or the shopping cart can only be used with paypal standard?

Thanks again.:)

I think it should stay too, but it would be nice if we could alter the icon that it's using so it's not quite so negative since it's a positive thing that it's telling you. You're being redirected to a safe secure place for payment shouldn't be a warning (yellow yeild sign thing) it should be something positive, dunno what tho lol

Yes, I think that's the answer.

No, SCC does not provide the capability for collecting customer information such as name, address, payment method, etc. That would be needed in order to use the Website Payments Pro service. That is more involved and then you're dealing with PCI compliance and yada, yada, yada.

"Express Checkout" is the other PayPal option. Not sure if that was what she meant or not?

13 months using cc scc and i had never acknowledged this ! symbol at all

If its a vote ? lets get rid of it, i agree it seems unnecessary

Having said that, if like the google checkout it could by pass this page completely even better.

All the current emphasis is on finishing off the pro version and getting it out to customers. Once that process is complete, there will be development time available to look at tweaking existing elements.

Google is a one click checkout process and it is entirely logical thay PayPal should also be a one click checkout process.

Yes, I agree with Will. The PayPal process has not changed much unfortunately. They have spent most of their time updating their internal account structure to offer their clients more "shop" benefits, but have not considered the process - only the tools.
