Should I wait for Pro? - Post ID 92711

In reading these posts, I understand that a pro version of cart creator is coming out yet this summer???

I would like to use the coffeecup shopping cart creator, but I must have a search feature as we deal with a lot of part numbers. I think I read that a search function will be in the pro version?

Also, somewhere I read that the cart is limited to 1200 items. Will the Pro version be able to handle more items? 1200 items won't cut it for me.

Also, will Pro allow subcategories?

Any hint as to when Pro will be available? This month or next?

We are still working on the features for the 'pro' version, so nothing is fully set in stone, but yes you will be able to add more then 1200 items. Sub-categories have not been decided on yet.

We hope to have the 'pro' version ready by Oct/Nov.

Sub-categories are also very important to me so please decide yes. Also, search was mentioned above, will it be for sure in Pro, yes I hope. My cart just keeps getting bigger and bigger. Organization (sub-categories) and ease of finding items by buyers (search and sub-categories) is so important. However, I continue to find the standard version to be easy to work with. Search and sub-categories pretty please.

Thank you

Always been a fan of Coffee Cup and have been waiting for Pro as well. We are a custom apparel company and truly need the ability for clients to select a size. My question is if we start with the standard version today on a limited basis will the site be able to be migrated to Pro?

Hi Think if you do a search the upgrade to pro from standard may have been mentioned by Scott, in the past.... seem to remember that he said it would be an easy upgrade.

Yes, you will be able to do this very easily. Simply install the pro version and open your shop. Everything else will be 100% automatic.

It's not a perfect, but you can use the pages feature on the newest verison of shopping cart creator and enter the code for the flash website search also sold by coffee cup. See my store as an example:

Very impressive shop Joe. I think that a search feature will eventually be available with Pro, absolutely necessary for a shopping cart like mine. For now I'm happy that there is at least a work-around for the Standard version. You're correct, It's not a perfect. However, it sure beats no search. Now that I know it's possible I'll try but really have no idea what I'm doing. I tried the flash search while building my cart but was discouraged as I said to myself, dud, now what.

Once we have sub-categories available, my cart will be more user friendlier and an in-site search feature will be the icing on the cake.

That said CCSC is a great value for the cost.

Have something to add? We’d love to hear it!
