Sub / Secondary Category or Search by...

I add new items to the shop on a regular basis and my customers are the same ones all the time. (It's a collectibles site). Is there anyway to show my new items (maybe in a sub or secondary category) or give them the ability to search on new items added since thier last visit or 'x' date?

One option i thought of was showing the newer items on the home page but if I add 25 new products a week, it gets a little cluttered.

Any suggestions?

I hope my answer is not "coming soon" (hint hint)

Thanks

I created a category titled Newly Listed. for new items. I copied the listings to their appropriate categories as well. After a few weeks I'll delete the items from Newly Listed. One has to remember to delete items from both categories in the event they sale.

I was doing that too Sally, but one thing to keep in mind should you decide to upgrade to the Pro version you won't be able to duplicate items and keep the same ID numbers. It doesn't seem to want us to be able to have the same item listed in more than 1 place unless we have separate ID numbers. Just a heads up on that. You'll be able to put your new items in a separate category no problem there, just won't be able to have it in it's particular category also, only one place at a time. Hope that makes sense.

You can showcase new products on the front page. If you have a lot just elect some and alternate them. Just give them a star and they will appear on the front page if you have that option selected.

With a little more coding you could probably add a random slide show type thing that changes the products on refresh.
I know you believe you understand what you think I said...but I am not sure you realize that what you heard is not exactly what I meant.
