Hello all,
Just wondering if there is a script or element (?) for a phone number that can be added a responsive page so that when it is mobile friendly on a smart phone if they want to call all they do is click the number and it automatically goes to the Phone Dial mode with number showing. If so what is your though about doing this?

I have been searching but at this point unable to find what I want, maybe I am not asking the right question?

You can use a Text Link Element for that. For the HREF just place tel:5555555555 in the URL.

Scott - Thank you seems to easy will give it try tomorrow, I guess that it could work for "Image Link Element" also?

Don't know if it something I really want but some have told me many using a smart phone like it when they can click the number and or image and call on the spot, I don't know how true that is.

By the way slowly but slowly I am getting to learn some of this fantastic CC program.

I have the Menu Builder but that is something I cannot even start to do at this time BUT really need to learn it as I want the drop down menu!

It could work, but then it would be an image instead of text which would then not give you what you are looking for.

You can use a button link with the tel:phonenumber as the href and it will work.

Thanks Ernie and Scott also, That does work tested it on my cell and was able to click it and place a call. I am thinking that anyone using a desk top pc will not actullay hit it as I think then it goes to page not found? BUT at least it is a start that someone can actually click it and call us when they see the number using the cell phone.

For desktop computers, it will open the default client for that. So for me, Skype opens.

Just as something to think about, what if you were to put that smartphone link only on the phone sized view port? This way you could have it normal on the others so they wouldn't be tempted to click it and have some default app open it and when on the phone it would call you.

Just have the element setup both ways and hide the one on the sizes that you don't want it to show on and only show the one you do.

Jo , Interesting but that seems something that a Novice like me may not be able to do at this point in learning all this BUT is something I think I would want and may try after I learn some more. Thank you!

No problem Ray, if you get stuck there are many using the software that can help you when you get to that point. It's not a real difficult thing to do really.

Basically you're creating both of the setups one right after the other (adding both elements to the page in other words), then at full size you take the one you don't want to be seen, which in this case would be the Phone dialing setup, and set that element's Display setting to Display: None

Then shrink the page using the slider until you get to the phone sized screen size and in there you will want to now make the Phone dialing setup to be Display: Block (or whatever you need it to be, I would check the original before making it not display so you know what to change it to in the narrower sized screen settings). Now take the element that was showing in the full sized screen size, that you don't want to show in the phone sized screen and set that one to Display: None and that's it!

Now what happens is when the screen is full sized and all the way down until phone size, it's the normal phone number setup, and as soon as it hits the phone size, it will now show the dialing phone setup.
