Copying from one project to another -...
I have a page in a project that I want to copy containers, elements, etc. from to another page in a different project. Using copy and paste does not work between two different instances of RSD. Opening one project and copying the items then opening the another project and trying to paste does not work.
So what is the method to accomplish this task?
Thanks,
Eldon

The only way is to make components of your containers etc that you want place into a new project., but to be honest it's almost as quick just to make them in your new project.

Sounds to me that this feature should be added to the program in a future release.

Would you please point me in the direction of the documentation that describes how to do this? This sounds like something I need to do since these elements are part of a module for an embedded system. These modules will get moved to other embedded systems that will be developed. Thus, in time, I will be doing this more than once.

In the Content panel the middle tab is called Components. That name used to give me the impression of being some arcane facility for making cleverly-built menus etc. In fact it is a facility which can be used for copying and pasting any element, and works like a dream: select an element, in the Content panel Component tab click on the 'Create Component from Selection', and that element appears for pasting anythere in the project. Even better, one can click on the little upload button near the top right corner of that component (next to the delete button), and that component is then available for pasting into any of one's projects.

PS There is some Guide help here.

Does anyone know if this ever got added as a feature?
It seems like a basic need and we keep bumping into it and having to do re-work or workarounds for something that should be included in any program.

Have something to add? We’d love to hear it!
