Frustrations with CoffeeCup Site...

I am writing to express my dissatisfaction with CoffeeCup Site Designer, a tool I have been using for quite some time.

Despite being a long-time user and renewing my license multiple times, I am increasingly frustrated with the lack of comprehensive tutorials and case studies, especially for building simple text or wireframe sites. The available learning resources are insufficient and do not meet the needs of users like me who want to make the most of the software.

### Comparison to Other Platforms

Compared to platforms like Webflow, Framer, Divi, and Elementor, CoffeeCup Site Designer does not provide the same level of tutorial support or learning materials. These other tools offer extensive libraries and step-by-step guides that help users learn and utilize their features more effectively. Unfortunately, CoffeeCup lacks these vital resources, making it harder to master the tool.

### Challenges with CoffeeCup Site Designer

Here are some of the key issues I've encountered while using CoffeeCup Site Designer:

1. **Lack of Comprehensive Tutorials**: The tutorials available are limited and do not cover a wide range of use cases or more complex features.
2. **Insufficient Case Studies**: There are very few case studies that show real-world applications of the tool, making it difficult to understand its full potential.
3. **Outdated and Sparse Educational Content**: The educational content, including YouTube videos and written guides, is outdated and sparse, offering little help to users looking to expand their skills.
4. **Limited Support for Advanced Features**: For more advanced users, the lack of resources on utilizing the software's full capabilities is particularly frustrating.
5. **Poor User Experience for Newcomers**: New users, in particular, face a steep learning curve due to the lack of adequate instructional content.

### Long-standing Issues and Disappointment

It’s disappointing that after more than 11 years on the market, CoffeeCup Site Designer has not significantly improved its educational offerings or its online presence. This lack of support and guidance makes it difficult for users to fully leverage the tool's capabilities.

### Final Thoughts

I am seriously considering not renewing my license again. The lack of comprehensive learning materials and support is a major issue, especially for a tool that’s been around for this long. Without significant improvements in the resources and support provided, I will likely need to look for alternatives that better support my web design needs.

I hope you take this feedback to heart and consider enhancing the educational content and support for your users.

Thank you for your attention to this matter.

I have sent your post to the staff's attention. I don't agree with all you are complaining about, but I'm with you on keeping the user manual up to date.
Ha en riktig god dag!

hi Winston,
i started on 7/22, and I understand your feelings personally I don't have enough experience with this SD software. But on the other hand what bothers me with SD:

- a lot of detailed information from the years 2011 to 2019 Version 1-2 of SD which is at version 5.3561! and of course the tutorials, videos are very difficult to follow and understand, because the SD interface is no longer the same!

- when I look for answers to my questions most of the time I am missing information in the documents I consult which do not allow me to find an answer!

Personally I would suggest that the 'boss' creates 'very detailed' videos by theme of all the functioning of SD on the latest version.

because currently, I did not want to give my opinion on this software, because I find that I really struggle a lot, due to the lack of very detailed information on the various functions of SD.

to do 'simplistic' things, opening a template and modifying it 'for the content of the text' is quick, but as soon as you want to modify the appearance it becomes a pain ... and the tutorial on this subject is also 'too simple'. and it becomes longer to modify a template according to your wishes than to start from a blank page.

but when you start from a blank page, the SD documentation is not detailed enough, the basic things are there, but there is still a lot of information missing for a beginner to progress quickly!

it saddens me to explain all this, but unfortunately this is what I have been experiencing for a month ... I am not an html-css programmer, only notions, and SD does not help the user who wants to start from a blank page.

and in one month at a rate of 12h-18h per day of work with this software I was only able to create 6 pages for my site! because I struggle enormously to find solutions to my problems.

I'm sorry to give my feelings, but this is exactly what I've been experiencing for a month! and yet I like this software, but the more I look for information the more I realize the gaps on this point which is nevertheless essential, knowing that this software is made to help non-programmers !

all this because of a manual not up to date with the current version 5.3561, and the lack of precise details on all the software options.

Sorry to butt in here but

Perhaps a little bit more info when posting a problem or asking fort help (as per previous posts) as to

1/Which framework you are using, that would help those who can and do help others on this forum help people with problems who use the same framework (Me I use Foundation all the time, I also know Frameworkless, never use Bootstrap or Materialize)

2/ A bit more information regarding the problem not just images/screenshots (as per audio problem) specifically what is or isn't happening) or HOW to do something would help us enormously
There are many users like yourself who can and do help with all sorts of problems and issues, in any number of ways
I for one do specific one to one step by step tutorials for users here on the have been doing so now for many years over those years I have helped many new comers and experienced designer/developers lift the fogginess associated with getting to know their way around a new application or indeed solving specific problems. I don't make the step by step tutorials public purely because they are specific, and because they would go out of date too quickly.
I have a motto which I apply to my video tutorials

(taken from and adapted from a quotation from Confucius)

DO IT FOR ME and I MAY NEVER LEARN
SHOW ME and I WILL LEARN
INVOLVE ME AND I WILL NOT ONLY LEARN I WILL LEARN TO UNDERSTAND

Just a thought in case in future you wish to reach out again with a specific problem help you need.

That doesn't mean I disagree about the CC articles etc, but I am very aware of the complexity and frequency and costs involved in keeping things like that up to date
