Please can somebody tell me the difference between Local and Online images?
I have always used Online, where I upload all images into an "Img" folder and refer the Picture image to that location.
Is one faster than the other or are there other criteria which dictate which is best to use?
Any advice will be greatly appreciated.
Thank you
Nick

Does this mean that your 'img' folder is at a different location (a different domain)?
I always create an 'img' folder in SD so as to have the images right there. I would imagine that to be the fastest way to get them loaded on a website due to the proximity, but I cannot prove it with any hard facts.

I believe the position is as follows:
1. Site Designer (SD) uses the word 'Local' for images held within the Project Resources, so that it can open the Project Resources box to allow one to select the image to which one wishes to link the image within the Picture Link element. SD uses Relative URLs for this.
2. The word 'Online' is used by SD for links to other images from
(a) one's own website if the images are not in Project Resources or if one wishes to use Absolute URLs, or
(b) other websites.
As Inger mentions, item 1 above seems to be the easiest way for websites made in SD.
Regarding speed of download, I also am inclined to think that images on one's own website may be fastest. I wonder whether perhaps testing with https://pagespeed.web.dev/ would give some indication regarding specific cases.

Thank you both so much for your feedback.
I have a better understanding now and will do some tests!
If I get any significant results I will post here!
