Remote Folder Where Sitemap Should Be...
I could really use some help, guys. I'm soooooo close to finishing my site, but the CC sitemapper has thrown me for a loop.
When I save my sitemap, the following files are generated:
sitemap.html
sitemap.xml
sitemap.css
cssimages\home.png
cssimages\level1.png
cssimages\level2.png
cssimages\level3.png
The Program seems to recognize my server name through VSD and FB, but asks for the "remote folder where sitemap should be uploaded." I have no idea what to put in this field and it's driving me insane!!!
I've probably entered 25 variations of what I thought belonged here -- and the files always seem to upload -- but I can't access the page online.
In VSD, my FTP WWW Folder is always set to httpdocs.
In FB, my Initial Host Folder is also set to httpdocs.
My site and all the forms work great, but this sitemapper has me clueless!
Can anyone please help me???
Thank you so much for your time,
Tim

my suggestion is httpdocs/sitemap, then make the link to the map http://www.yoursite.com/sitemap/sitemap.html worked for me hehehehehehehe!

if you want your file on the same level as your pages then simply put:
public_html
where it asks you where you want it uploaded. This is the root location on your server where your pages are stored. If you want it in a special folder you can do as bruzer suggested above, which would look like this:
public_html/sitemap/

Thanks so much for your help guys -- I will try your suggestions and let you know how it works out.
I'd appreciate your thoughts on this work around I came up with. Since I didn't know where to upload the sitemap to, I just added the sitemap.xml file to the root of my VSD project and then re-synced the site. Granted, I don't have a sitemap for users, but I figure at least I have a sitemap for the bots!
Thanks again,
Tim

I have never heard of that, but it sounds clever. Do you have a Google Webmaster Tools account. If not, you should its free. It will allow you to submit your sitemap so that Google bot can more easily navigate your site. If for some reason Google bot is having a problem it will show up in your account. This way you can monitor it to make sure its working all right.
Let us know how it goes.
