Hello Coffee Cup Folks:
The new Web Image Studio Lite is just perfect for light graphic tweaks and creation.
I'm looking for exactly the same thing with sound files.
I don't need a full featured audio editor. Just something that lets me cut and paste bits from audio files.
I have CC's Ripper and it is great. Simple elegance.
But. What if I have the audio track and I want to shorten it. Or past two bits together?
I haven't found a inexpensive simple, light weight program to do that.
Yes, there are copyright issues but I'm not talking about stealing copyright material. For example, I have an audio recording I made. It is one big file and I'd like to break it into shorter clips.
Or, I sampled some sounds. But I'd like to clean up the track. Cut out the first second and last couple.
And so on.
bye

This isn't a CC program but it's free and it will get the job done until CC can make a version of their own.

Hello Eric
Good ol' sourceforge. I hadn't seen audacity. Don't know how I missed it. Looks great. Also says it handles large files and that is something the other free ones I've looked at struggled with. I'll give it a whirl. But I'm sure it will be great. It has been my experience that people named "eric" give great advice.

oh, I'm sure we should go to the chat forum but we just got a chocolate lab. 5 1/2 months old now.

I've used audacity here and there - it's pretty nifty!
Aren't you a little short for a Storm Trooper?
Have something to add? We’d love to hear it!
