I am anxiously awaiting the shopping cart pro with inventory control.

At a retailer conference I recently attended there was a presenter that had a service that I was very interested in but did not want to pay $200.00 a month to have them host my site to get the service. It required using their shopping cart and also gave them access to all information about my store which I did not find appealing.

It did thowever get me thinking about other options to do the same thing. My first thought was to hire a programmer to write a couple of programs for me, but then I thought of Coffee Cup.

Coffee Cup already has half the solution, or will have when SCP is available.

What I would VERY MUCH like to see is a program, a separate program available for purchase by owners of SCP, that will read the store inventory from the store computer and automatically update the web store with everything in stock.

Every (user settable time interval) the program compares the databases and updates the inventory.

When a purchase is made in the web store a notice is sent that appears as a popup on my screen with the pick list, payment method and shipping or pickup information.

The program would have to be configurable to know which field is which in the store database. It would also have to be able to upload any and all pictures and descriptions of the items. This information would need to be present in the database fields for this to work. The ability to assign a web price would also be desirable. Some features might not be available to all depending on what is being used as a POS system.

This is a very brief description of a large idea that I will be happy to expand on if there appears to be any interest.
