I have a massive bundle of Coffeecup software built up over the last 11 years and have now taken the decision to dump Dreamweaver to go with the HTML5 functionality of HTML Editor.

The code is clean with a massive css file OFF PAGE and thats what the search engine want and love (along with great text content).

I specialise in producing search engine optimised websites for small businesses because what is the point in uploading a gorgeously beautiful website - if it cannot be found!

And if you are selling a product, service or message - you have to be found!

With HTML Editor and its built in TEXT menu designer, css designer etc along with Sitemapper, Direct FTP etc Coffecup just need something that can assist with ON PAGE optimisation covering keywords/phrases and how they should be used.

An application covering critical basics for beginners for ON PAGE activity could be supplemented with an additional application covering suggestions and tips for all other areas of good SEO practice such as:

* Know your market
* Know the keyphrases that your customers use
* Build a collection of quality and relevant links TO your website as search engines do not rank lonely Billy No-Mates websites, no matter how lovely they are!
* Launch your website to the world using artcle and PR websites.
* Monitor your traffic and analyse what works and does not work on your website
* Maintain continuous improvment to your website and keep building those links

There is a lot in SEO and it is not everyones cup of tea (sorry Coffee) but a with an application such as this it would be a big SEO step forward is to get the basics right on your website/pages, I probably wont need to work again......no wait.........I better not click the "Post Message" button............do'h!

Dave and Inger,

Along with non CMS sites produced by Dreamwever and Coffeecup, I have produce both Joomla and Wordpress sites. CMS sites, as you know, are marvellous for updating through any web browser anywhere - amongst many other great benefits. There is a place for everything anywhere on the web.

I did mention above that I have now dumped Dreamweaver for HTML Editor but you are right I never mentioned that I also build Joomla sites (as it was not the issue) - clients still need CMS functionality.

Dave,

We both know that there is a ton of SEO stuff all over the web. There is in fact too much and even spelt out in its simplest form, the lights go off and the shutters come down when most users try to assimilate any of this data.

You only have to look at any website and see that probably 80% have little or no on page SEO and a lot of these are built by professionals.

My idea is for Coffeecup to assist with the basics of on page SEO when building a site through HTML Editor. This would be of exceptional benefit to Coffeecup customers and do you know what, I dont think many would even realise what is being done to help them be found faster by both the search engines and their customers.

Cheers

Paul
