Is it possible to safely store files as a backup somewhere on a private domain? If so how would you set this up?

I'm after a way of safely backing up my hard drive off site.

I know you believe you understand what you think I said...but I am not sure you realize that what you heard is not exactly what I meant.

You need to check with your host because they may not allow it.;)

I can't hear what I'm looking at.
It's easy to overlook something you're not looking for.

An external hard drive? That's what I'm using.

Hi Inger ...yes already have it on external hard drive but worry about what would happen if there was a fire or something and that got destroyed too ...so looking at something offsite.

Eric that looks interesting.

Domains are held on hosts that could go out of business or catch fire. Actual data takes up little room so why not back up data only to DVD and store say in a shed or give a copy to a relo for safe keeping. I worked with a guy once creating test devices and he went overboard with backups.

That was when a hundred copies could be stored on a floppy. He had dozens, even gave me some. I believe you should have a good back up plan but don't let it become a nightmare.

Whats wrong with S_Drive free storage, just the place for those website copies and there will still be room for the main site.

CC I have to say is very generous with that and I am getting a site ready to make full use of it.
