So many computer users don't even understand what a browser is; true example: "What browser do you use? I use Google." When they don't even know what browser they use, they certainly don't know if it's out-dated or not. When websites appear all %$*&#ed up, they assume it's the website, not knowing they're using an over the hill, non-supported browser. Microsoft got the issue out there when it 'killed' XP, but it's still an issue many people are unaware of.
Maybe Google can accomplish what individual web dev's can't — Get the bulk of everyday users to make free updates to their browsers.

When I had Bing installed, it snuck in some crappy, buggy, suspicious, behind-the-scenes software along with it.
Bing Bar is not allowed anywhere near my computers.
