Strine was the hardest language I learnt especially with a Aussie accent. Strange I have only lived in England and Australia and even when I went to Europe for work, I was not there long to learn another language. I guess need is a big reason. Gradually as we get more ethnic arrivals it may be necessary then it will be Lebanese,Chinese, Vietnamese and Korean although being that this is an English speaking country the need is moot. I think French would be a good option as it is rarely heard.

I agree with you Prism. It's when language is required that you will learn it the best, I just want to see what I can come up with in Turkish just to have the know how's. If I was ever to visit somewhere in the world it would probably be Turkey, and then I want to visit my home country of Japan. I've been close enough to my Mexican roots to know that I would only like certain places in Mexico that I could actually survive in without having to worry about a second language. I don't know really, realization is, I will probably not get to visit any of them lol.
