Is Power Post strictly for S-Drive only... or can you use it to edit sites/streams that are on other hosting services?

Thanks...

Hiya TC,

Power Post is specifically for S-Drive, and more specifically for Streams on S-Drive. It gives you the ability to update your S-Drive stream from your computer with more control than email would give. Granted there's some issues with S-Drive not always playing nice with the CSS, but they are working on that too. Other than that, it's an S-Drive only program.

Thanks, Jo Ann.

I'm debating whether or not to purchase it to have it in my arsenal of CC products. I have S-Drive now as part of a bundle, but don't use, nor plan on continuing it beyond its expiration period since I'm paying for hosting elsewhere.

It sounds like CC's version of Adobe Contribute, or similar, from what I've read.

Thanks!

Yeah It's a pretty nice program if you use S-Drive Streams, but if you don't, then I wouldn't bother buying it until such a time as you decide to use it since it's not good for anything other than S_Drive Streams. Check out the Streams though if you get some time, it's pretty interesting for being able to iframe a nice blog setup into your site.

You can see it iframed in with just a bit of adjustment to the sizing of the iframe and css and it works pretty slick on this site:
http://cattownrescue.org
Scroll down that site to the bottom area and you'll see the News section. That's an S-Drive Stream iframed into that site which works pretty slick. By all rights you don't need the software for it either, it allows you to update your stream via email and have multiple contributors so if ever you need a slick easy to use blog or news type setup (well you may need to edit the text manually after to fix the coloring issues at times lol, but it's extremely easy to do that too which they are working on).

Anwyays end of spiel lol, check it out if you want to, I didn't for a very long time as I we have our own hosting company so I didn't even really look at it until someone wanted a small little blog. Checked it out and it's pretty slick. :)

I have a hard time visualizing power post. How is it integrated into my vsd website? how do I display it on my web page? Why is there not more information on coffeecup about this.

Power post is an application for updating or modifying your stream. Your stream can be added to your VSD site by clicking the stream button on the left hand side of the design screen in VSD.
I can't hear what I'm looking at.
It's easy to overlook something you're not looking for.

Hiya Harvey,

Power Post is a program that you use on your computer. When you install it you setup an account on it same as you would an ftp program only it's easier because it's just setting the account up in the program with your sign in from CoffeeCup for your account. Then when you do a post in it you tell it which account to upload to and it uploads automatically to the Stream on your account. Very simple to use and pretty slick little program. I haven't used it a lot myself, but a client I recently did a website for has used it a few times now and likes it. I don't use it a lot only because I don't really upkeep any news or blog as of yet. I do intend to in the future though and I'll definitely be using Power Post to do it :)

I just purchased it as I have the free space on S_Drive with one stream allowed. offer too good to give up. I do not know where I shall use it yet as I can do the same inbedded in a page with my CMS. Still as with all tools from CC there is always the use not seen straight up. As it integrates with VSD that is a good thing.

I have quite a few artists wanting their own sites they create themselves. So maybe that will be their updating system. I have said yes to help a few of the blue rinse brigade to help them get started. It will be via way of VSD. I am presently setting up the Societies Lap Top to demo how.
How did I ever find the time to to go to work all those years ago. Still it gives a full interesting life.
