Hello John,
Looks as if most (3 out of 4) of your sites have been generated by Wordpress with their templates so I guess you haven't been able to use CC much in them.

In the alarm system site, I am seeing badly formed special characters at the beginnings of most paragraphs. Doesn't look as if you are using the special character entities, so you might want to look into that.

Hello, all!

As others have done, I taught myself HTML to create a site for a group I belong to http://www.sothsayersguild.org
Now, I am in the process of doing a site which my husband and I will share the use of. ( Keltic Consulting Services )

Hope to become an active member of this forum, and I'm looking forard to sharing ideas and tips with you all!

First idea is to put a working link in your post. The first link is most lightly this one:
http://www.soothsayersguild.org the second one ain't online at all.
succes,
G.J.

Janys and others,

It took me about two hours, but I changed ALL the text on my site to Verdana. Would you mind doing me huge favor and having a look if the text lines up? It looks perfect on MY computer through Firefox, IE, and Safari.

Pay close attention to these pages:

http://www.disneysubmarines.com/index.html

http://www.disneysubmarines.com/disneyl … ories.html

http://www.disneysubmarines.com/finding … icles.html

Thanks!

Nope Chad,
There's still a problem on the right side text blocks. See attached screenshot from Linux FireFox.

Again, I would suggest using browsershots.org and testing it. It gives you a picture of your site though up to around 80 browsers/operating systems combos.

Will do :-) Thanks!

I ask for help here because I also want to consider how different operating systems and screen resolutions would impact the site.

But browsershots is very helpful!

First website using VSD

I produce and sell promotional flying discs (frisbees)

www.flyingdiscpromotions.com.au

Tool used: VSD of course :)

I would appreciate any comments on the site as I'm about to build a new site for a tourist accomodation business in Western Australia I have just bought. I need a snappy site to bring in the customers and pay the bills ;)

Hi Ballen
Looks good - simple and clean. If you want a few ideas about the kind of site you have in mind, contact me through the Ambassadors' mail and I can let you see a few addresses of holiday homes I have built sites for. You might find a few ideas to pick up for your own. Wish you all the best with the new enterprise!

Chad
All appears to be working well for me now.

Thanks Janys..I would love to see some of your work. Always good to borrow ideas form other sites. Now for the really dumb question...where the heck is the Ambassadors e-mail address? I have searched everywhere on the CC site. I think I even clicked the 'become and ambassador' link at one stage! A little too early for that I think!!

Domain: www.mortarandpetals.com

Name: Mortar & Petals

Tools: Visual Site Designer, Flash Menu Builder...thinking about StyleSheet Maker, if I can figure out how it works with VSD.

Description: We are always having to figure out how to do things around the house; so, we figured that we could share them. That was the original idea; it will eventually be more targeted towards garden design (Petals). Anyway, we've gotten some feedback that (in some browsers) the objects / links float around and end up on top of each other. So, now I am trying to understand CSS.

This is my first website & I've been working on it for about 5 months. In the distant past I was a C programmer (Unix & embedded...I know, different planets).
