I like 7 because of the things windows can fix by itself. I get far fewer phone calls from friends and relatives asking for help now that their all on 7.:) I liked XP from a techie stand point.
I can't hear what I'm looking at.
It's easy to overlook something you're not looking for.

I like both XP and 7, but if I had to choose it would be 7. The IT dudes put 7 on the network last spring so everyone had to move to 7 and so far no real complaints from anyone.

My thoughts precisely! And I too don't get all those calls from friends who want to have various things fixed.

XP ruled, and I think Microsoft should continue support. :)

Is Win8 live now, or is this just a beta? I thought they would launch it some time in October...

If you have a subscription to MSDN, you can get it now. The official public release is in October.

I hate to say it, but it is growing on me. Not having the start menu though is a huge PINTA! ;)
