I'd like to set up a calendar on my website (so I can stop using the Bravenet one).

My question is, how do I do it?

Just a little background: I'm an amature. I'm going to need an "Idiot's Guide" for setting this up. I've kept to very basic html. I'm now willing to expand my options a bit. Please be patient. I don't mean to sound like an idiot.

I want this calendar for the purpose of listing events, and maybe giving others the opprtunity to also add events --paintball games. Anyway, if there is a way to do it, please tell! I need to learn.

Thanks!!!!

:) I'll tell you that a calendar is not an easy application to build. If you are able to run PHP on your server and if you are willing to give it a try, do a search for "PHP calendar" on Google or your favorite search engine. There are many good scripts out there and all you have to do is learn a little bit about PHP. Try a search for calendar on this site as well since we did discuss this issue not to long ago.

A buddy of mine suggested this to me also. Unfortunately my current hosting package doesn't support PHP, and I'm too tight to spend the extra money to upgrade it.

Maybe I'm going to have to change some of my ideas about all this...

I don't see how you could do everything you wanted to do with the calender without using some form script and a data base. To allow other users to post their events on your calendar requires at least PHP and MySQL or an equivalent.

I found this program and it creates Calendars using HTML code all you do is uploaded it to your website. I found it pretty good.

Take a look if you like of the one I have up.

Great little application, but it is not a dynamic calendar where you can add entries through the website without having to regenerate the calender and page every time you have a change. Jason was also looking for an application which would allow users to post their events on the calender.
