I am wondering if we can shorten the columns for Saturday and Sunday - is this at all possible?
I tried inserting width tags to the .notinrange tags - and not working, any help would be appreciated!

Not sure, but I think the 'notinrange' class applies to dates of the previous and next month that you can see on the calendar for the current month.

You can't mean 'shorten the columns', that would make the days of a week completely out of sync. You may perhaps mean narrowing the width of the cells for Sat. and Sun. That might perhaps be possible if you add a class .weekend or so and apply it on those days.
