Web calendar on PC XP Version 5.1 Build 19

I have 2 Calendars, Fred and Sue. I select Fred and select the FLIP theme and save it. I preview it and see Fred with the FLIP theme. Then I save the Fred ICS.
I deselect Fred and select Sue.

I give Sue the PICNIC theme and save it. I preview it and see Sue with the PICNIC theme. Then I save the Sue ICS.

I close the program without publishing either calendar to the web.
Later I open the program, Fred and Sue are there all excited to go to work. I select Fred expecting to see the FLIP theme in the preview, but NO! Fred is now wearing the PICNIC theme (the last theme I used, for Sue).

What's the deal? Doesn't the associated theme get saved with each calendar's ICS file (whatever that is)? Do I actually have to publish to the web for a theme to get saved with a calendar?

I think you need to fire Fred and Sue, as they seem to not remember what they are supposed to do...

Hiya McShay,

Very entertaining post lol thanks for that.

As for the issue, I don't think saving an ICS actually saves the calendar. You don't have to "publish" the calendars when you change things, but you do have to actually save them for their settings to stick. Try it again and see if saving them makes a difference.

Jo Ann-
After I "Choose" a theme and click "Save" to choose that theme the only other Save option I see is to Save the ICS, which I did right after changing each of Sue and Fred's themes - which didn't work.
Is there another Save hiding somewhere I'm not seeing?

Hmm I stand corrected and hadn't realized there was no normal save setup other than the ICS. I guess someone else will need to step in here as I haven't used it enough to have this happen to me yet.

If I'm reading you correctly try this. Open your calendar and chose the theme you like. Check the my calendars that you want included with this theme. Export. Now chose the theme you want for the second calendar. Chose the my calendars you want to include. Export.:)
Export to two separate folders.;)
I can't hear what I'm looking at.

Eric-
I tried it, exporting to 2 different folders, but Fred and Sue are still PICNICing and FLIPping with the wrong themes (defaulting to the last theme selected) Unless I'm really messing up, I think I've found a rather bad bug.

There's something going on in your system because I did what I stated above and my calendars keep the correct theme. I'm really curious now why they would do this.:/

Might I suggest running Ccleaner from Piriform http://www.piriform.com and seeing if that fixes it. Be sure to go to the Applications tab and scroll down and uncheck the HTML Editor from that list if you use that program and then run it and it will clean up all the temp files on your computer and such. Then reset up your themes on your menus and save them and see if that fixes it. Might just be a cache issue.
