Web Calendar 4.0 events not repeating...

Hi,

I want all of my events to repeat yearly--and accurately.

They are repeating accurately in the Preview window but not in the Events tab. There the dates are off by one day in 2008.

I am putting countless hours into this project and don't want any problems when I get it finished and published.

Any suggestions?

Web Calendar. Accuracy of repeating yearly events:

Yes, this is still a real and legitimate concern. I have an historical site, so publishing inaccurate information or dates is not an option. The historical events MUST repeat accurately on the same date every year.

What assurance do I have that yearly events will repeat accurately?

I have read the other posts on this issue, including the most recent ones, but have not read anything truly helpful from the Coffee Cup staff. If I have missed a useful post, please advise. Thanks.

Hm.. actually, it does look like user-created holidays get knocked off by one due to the leap year, as does anything created -on- the leap year, but only in the Design process.

On the actual calendar that the software itself produces, the dates all align correctly. The bottom line is any date you add to the calendar for this year should look correct in both design and online, but if it reoccurs for more than a year than it may look a little odd in the software itself. However, it will still look fine when you host it online.

If somebody using the latest version of the software is experiencing something different, please link us to your calendar! Thanks!

Dave,

Thank you for acknowledging--and confirming--my concern about the Web Calendar.

Your post is reassuring.

Dave,

Here is a link for something I put together as a test for a future project. I downloaded the calendar program yesterday, installed, and made this calendar.

On Wednesday January 9, I entered a weekly repeating event. That event shows only once during the month of January.

Also take a look at January 20. I think that event is early by a year.

Bill,

I just looked at your xml and I don't show the 9th as a weekly event.

If you look at the XML:

<range from="1/9/2008" to="1/9/2008" state="event" catagory="">Bill in class 6:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m.</range>

This shows it is just a one time entry. If it was a weekly event, it would look like:

<recurrent date="1/10/2008" type="week" day="4" pattern="1" state="event" catagory="">This is a weekly event</recurrent>

Scott,

I loaded the xml file into CC Calendar. I made the change to the date to again have it set to weekly. I saved the changed calendar. I uploaded the xml file and checked, there was no change. I uploaded all the files and checked, and there was no change.

I closed CC Calendar, and reopened. I opened the file I had saved. The event was no longer weekly.

Using CC HTML editor, I opened the xml file, deleted the entry for January 9, saved and closed the xml file. Then I uploaded the xml file and the calendar has a repeating event for every Wednesday.

I don't understand why the changes were not made, but deleting the entry and reentering it worked.

I will keep an eye on that and see if anyone else has the issue. Also I am using version 4.1 This version corrected some leap year issues reported by other users.

We have been working on this for the past few days. I have confirmed that I think the problem is IE 7.0.5730.11 When I updated it to 7.0.5730.13 any of the issues reported seemed to be fixed. We are going to see if we can find a way to refresh the swf on first load.
