Hey,

I'm using a calendar here:
http://www.cafeamericanosrq.com/Events/Events.html

There are supposed to be events on Dec 23 and 31, Jan 1 and 22, and Feb 14. For some reason, every so often, on the restaurant owner's website only the Jan 1st date is visible. I have been unable to replicate this on my computer, but have seen it with my own eyes on his. None of my friends are able to replicate it, but he says that at least one of his friends has. He uses IE and I use Firefox, but I tested it on my IE and was unable to replicate it. We're both on PCs.

Any ideas? Is the swf only partially loading the xml file for some reason? Does it have something to do with the fact that I made my own html page to house the calendar in (am I missing some cide from the one HTML file that the CC calendar program generates)?

Any ideas would be appreciated!

Hi. I can confirm that your calendar does what your client says. I went to your page (first time, so no cache issuer there) and only have an event on Jan 01. All other months had no events.
When I "refreshed" the web page, the other events just showed up!
I have seen the same sort of thing on my own web page. I can't figure out how to get the calendar to be more reliable.

About the only thing I can see in your code that 'might' mess things up is the use of special characters. Example $ in your prices. This may not work, so do a test run on a 'dummy' calendar first, but try putting the numerical equivalent, so instead of a $ sign, use $ and see if that helps. Maybe the $ is being read as some other form of code. It's a long shot, but maybe worth a try?

I went to your site and it displayed properly, events showed up fine, but then I updated my flash a couple of weeks ago.

Thanks for checking the site out guys, I really appreciate it. Cliff Main, I will try that "$" fix out and report back. David, I'll update my client's Flash and see if that changes anything. Thanks for the suggestions!

I have similar symptoms, mine shows data on Jan 1-2-3, but nothing else, then after refresh, it all looks ok. I believe it's a bug in the software. Is there any way we can know if the programmers read this forum and are looking into it.

Coffee Cup Adviser's, Ambassador's and Staff frequent the forums. Have you updated your flash lately? That is starting to look like the issue.

I updated my clients Flash. At first it looked like it worked, strangely, but after a few refreshes it was back to not working. I didn't try the "$" fix that Cliff suggested because it seemed like a longshot and I've already spent too much time on this. I had to switch to a different calendar :(
