Hey CoffeeCuppers!

Right, so I've been using CC stuff since 1997 and love it all! I've just brought the OS X beta of WFB and I must say, you haven't disappointed! It's a great concept and I'm sure it works well....for everyone else but me!

I've managed to make a form, looks great. Exported to manual settings. Punched in the DB stuff that I need. Set the email addresses that I want it to send to. All good so far!

Now, let's throw a curly one! I'm using this on a Joomal 1.7 site. Now before you start to cringe, I know my Joomla!

I've successfully added the form to an article, the form displays and does all the right things.

I can input data into it, if I do something wrong, it lets me know and I can hit submit and it takes me to the page that I asked it to do.

The only thing it doesn't do is enter the info into the MySQL DB, or send the bloody email!

I can't for the buggering life of me find any log files that it's writing and can't seem to work out why the hell it's not working!

Anybody care to shed some light?!?!

If you look in the storage folder Dave, there should be a log file called fb_error.log.php If any errors occurred, it will be there. Now if you are logging to MySQL and it is not working, the email will not get sent. What you may want to do is turn that option off so that the email part works and then try and debug the MySQL part.

If that doesn't help, open a support ticket and we can also look at your .fb file to see if there are any issues with the form.

Alrighty then!

Form worked perfectly without the SQL settings! Good Job!

Now, what are the major hangups with the SQL stuff? Do I need to create the tables and fields first or does the form do that? I've read a couple of things that have alternating views.

Settings I bashed in were:

Server: localhost
Port: 3306
Username: The Username that I can log into PHPMyAdmin with and had full access to the DB
Password: The one that goes with the Username
Database Name: poopswa_volunteerform
Table Name: vapp

There's currently nothing in the "vapp" table, except for an ID row that has an auto increment INT field in it. I have tried it both ways and created the tables manually.

Wonderful! The software should create all of that for you if the permissions are right. All you need to make is the database and the scripts will do the rest.

Nope!

Created new DB. poopswa_vapp. No table. Updated the form and uploaded the changes. Submitted the form and nothing in the DB and no email!

Aaaarrrgggghhh! I so want this to work! Would be the best $19 I ever spent!

I am not really sure how to debug that one for you as the only way to test it is to be on that server.

Maybe try deleting the database and re-create a new one and make sure all the proper permissions are in place. It could be just a bad setup.
