Just purchased the latest version of this software (Form Builder 2.9) but cant for the life of me seem to find where I can change a simple 3 field form to use a horizontal layout, any pointers guys for an old n00b would be much appreciated

You need to tweak the layout after export. There is no way to create a horizontal layout within the programme. You can do parts of it, though: Use the maximum width (960px), make the input fields 33% wide. Then after export you need to set the width according to your needs.
