Problem With Version 1.1 Build 3261 -...

I have a web design and hosting company with a few clients - and I have confirmed a problem with the latest version of Web Form Builder, and would like to know if there is a solution. The problem occurs when creating a form with Email notification on a website domain that uses a separate MX mail server, such as Microsoft Exchange.

I have created a very simple form, and when I use it on a web page in one of my domains where the MX mail record and the www host record are the same - all works well and the email notification is sent without a problem.

However, when using the same form (after adjusting the "from" email address) on a web page in a domain where the MX record points to an Exchange server with a different IP address, the email fails to send. Even if I create a new email address on the mail server associated with the website domain, and even if I create a "backup" MX record for the website domain... still the email notification fails. The error message simply says "cannot send email to _____", the recipient specified in the form settings.

This seems like a major limitation, and it will prevent me from using this great software tool on this website I'm working on. Please let me know if there is anything I can do to make this work.

Thanks

Really... is there no answer to this? I will either have to downgrade my version (it was working with the last build) or else use another form building tool or bang out the code myself? Seems a shame...

Evert,

Is there anyway we can get a link to the Website or at least the code you are using? It makes it easier when we can see what is going on vs someone telling us. This is a user based forum and if you are having a problem we can not answer, I would suggest putting in a ticket if you do not hear back from someone in the forum. Because CC will answer your Ticket usually within 20min... (Do not quote me on the time they answer... :P Just from my experiences.)

Sure... here is a link to the form where it does not work:

http://www.tbylaw.com/form.html

And here is a link to the (almost) same form where it does work, the only difference is the "from" address used:

http://www.roibal.com/form.html

The primary MX record for tbylaw.com points to their private server which has MS Exchange... for the purposes of testing this form, I created a "backup" MX record which points to the internet web/email server I use, and created a new email account on that server only, to use as the "from" address on the form.

The domain - roibal.com is a typical setup with the web/email server being the same, and no Exchange server is involved.

If no one here has an idea what can be done to help, I will consider submitting a trouble ticket - that is a good suggestions. Thanks!

This problem is caused by one of two things: Either your hosting provider does not allow sendmail
to work with PHP, or your PHP is configured to not use sendmail. In either case, contact your hosting
provider and ask them to configure sendmail to work with PHP on your server. Or check your C-Panel if you have one for this setting...

If this does not fix your problem, I would submit a ticket. :P
