Hi there,

Just thought I would ask coffeecup because I always find your products fantastic and easy to use.

Which of your programs do you think would be best suited to creating a nice looking custom template for ebay listing descriptions?

I know it's just html code but I don't really know coding yet or very little anyway.

Maybe visual site designer could help? and with an image editor program? or do I really have to learn more html?

I have seen free ebay listing templates but as they are free they don't look too special. They all seem to use tables so I assume that is what i need to learn for ebay?

look forward to some expert guidance as you are all so helpful here.

I use VSD (no code) to create my ebay templates, and then open them in CC FREE html editor to obtain the code to paste into ebay html page

works for me !!!
Started using CC VSD in January 2009, I don't do HTML code, Sales from CC site exceeding expectations taken me out of semi-retirement

Hi there, that sounds great.

Does this method require you do every listing as a new template though?

I have a feeling vsd design wont be scaling so that one design fits all content/text? and that every lsiting would need to have it's own background or header images?

Hiya Andrew,

Although I don't use VSD I would imagine it would work like most other types of programs. Create your main setup for one of your products, maybe create a few placeholder images even so that you can put them in place of your product images. Then save it as a template name call it vsd_ebay_template or whatever. Then when you need to do a new product just open that template, save it as a new site/file and now just edit what you need to edit. This would keep all the basics in place while allowing you to just edit the text, background and images.

Hi Jo Ann,

Thank you for the speedy reply.

That sounds good to me, i'll give that a go. It's going to be a quick way to do things.

You will need to host your images with Ebay, or your prospective clients will just see X (crosses)

I have my own website with an identical page to the ebay template with my images in so clients can click on the link on the box and x and be taken to the website page with dozens of pictures on (NO CART THOUGH) ebay permits that.

Little trick, my ebay name is also my .co.uk domain name, most customers work it out
