I'm very excited to hear that Coffeecup are in the process of enabling our websites to go responsive. This really is great news. The reason that I write is to say that I am currently planning a major overhaul of all my coffeecup based websites (including my shops). As I know very little about the programming side of things I ask if we will need to rebuild our websites from scratch to make them responsive, or will there be a line of code which we input onto every page of our websites/shops to make them responsive?

If it's the latter I shall get started on the overhaul and wait for the code, if its the former I shall stop my new designs and wait for the launch.

In anticipation...

I expect it will be a totally new approach but based on CC's ease of doing things I do expect it to be an easy deal

It would be possible to redirect mobile users to a different style sheet.

I would wait. Making a site responsive is more then CSS. The elements have to work in harmony on every screen size so the HTML code is going to get a major over haul.
I can't hear what I'm looking at.
It's easy to overlook something you're not looking for.

I think you're right. It's a total overhaul job for me... which is not an issue considering the difference it will make. Thanks chaps.

Is the Responsive launch days, weeks or months away do you think?

Haven't heard anything. I would hope that they get shops responsive then add a few of the features users have been asking for.

If you're expecting this responsive setup to work with VSD though that's not happening. Mostly this is new programs, some of the other programs like Form Builder, and such, but VSD won't be getting any up-dates for that at all. HTML Editor on the other hand is a code program so it just all depends on what theme you use or create in it. It does already come with some responsive setups though and you can already purchase themes for it in the CC store that are responsive. Just thought I'd add that bit about VSD in here though as you said you weren't into coding and therefore I assume it's VSD you're using. If not then .... never mind :P

Oooh that's a bit naughty. Something tells me that VSD may be due a Responsive upgrade after all! Which will be fantastic.

Have something to add? We’d love to hear it!
