I have a template outline designed in html4-transitional, there's very little in it other than image background with transparent overlay, but my host has a lot of coded 'includes' built in around areas to set up css navigation etc, and which help set up various plug ins that I want to keep.
I'm an almost total newby as far as code goes, although I realise html 5 is the way forward, and I'd like if possible to reduce on the effort involved in building a massive information site only to find it's got to be altered at some point.
I've looked as a 'new' html page built in your free hmtl web editor, and I'm wondering if I could just change my template from an html transitional page to an html page and include the google code - thereby turning it into an html 5 page?
or is this too simplistic?
thank you
Mary
html4 template>html5 editing - Post...
Hiya Mary,
Changing it to HTML5 is very simple and probably as simple as you think it is. Take the page that the HTML Editor created for HTML5 and place your content in it in the same area it's in on your current page and you're done.
Or if you feel brave enough, just edit the <head></head> area of your code so that it conforms to the HTML5 setup instead of the HTML4 Transitional.
If you're unsure, just give us a link here and we'll take a look and repaste your head code here for you to copy and replace it on your page.
