OK, glad all is well, thanks Jo Ann. :)

I'm always slow to upgrade OS'. Don't see much advantage, except putting more money in Microsoft's coffers, like they need it and I don't.

Whew, I'm not sure if it was this last set of changes or the economy just got even worse, but since making all the changes suggested in this thread, we're in the dumpster here. People are visiting but not calling.

Your competition's prices are much lower. http://www.weservedenver.com/costs.php

- In my opinion (I know you didn't ask for it), your homepage should have all the necessary information for a prospective client to make their decision to hire you. If the area you serve is such a big deal, why make people dig for the map? Why not place it on the front page?

- The eagle is puzzling. The state animal of Colorado is the bighorn sheep, is it not? Do you do service using the eagle? Of course not. So, why the affinity? Why is the image of the eagle bigger than your service map?

- There is too much information on the site. It's overwhelming. Less is more.
Let's not get all hurt.

Not relevant. It's not like buying the same model of TV set. Others might charge $5 a serve and be out of business in 6 months, while ripping off their clients and doing illegal things. We do it right and honestly and well.

Essentially it is, right at the top there - the Denver area.

LOL! No one said it was the state animal, nor must it be for me to use it in my web page photo?
If you have a tree in your web page photo, do you use it to do your work? LOL
It's in there because I LIKE it and it's symbolic of a hunter like myself and of course my country.
It's not bigger than the service map.

I commend you for all that, truly. But above you wrote...

So, obviously, the money is relevant to your business model. You can't really be that naive, right?

I feel my post was constructive and your last reply was very dismissive. I've been doing web development professionally for 15 years, Melissa. Four years with the first company, eight with the second, and now three with my current company. I know a little bit about this stuff.

My comment regarding there being too much information on the site was meant to help stimulate scrutiny of what is necessary and what is superfluous.

The way everything is crammed into those pages makes you look desperate, not professional.

I don't believe anymore good will come of this discussion. So, I think I'm done here.

Melissa,

Unfortunately I must agree...

Your prices are what you set. Maybe you should look at them and see if there is anything you can change. (I have not looked at your competitors and do not know their prices, but you should look at them and see how you stack up.)

You have been told the content on your site was over written from day one that you asked for help here.

I believe the top part of your page looks a lot better then what it did, however your text on the bottom half is way too much for me as a client to want to have to read.

People read a index page for about 15 secs before they leave if they can not find the information they are looking for. This is something you should take into consideration and make the changes that really count.

You have a good market, and a good brand, you are also very smart. So stop being so stubborn and make the changes that need to be done, so that you do not have to worry how the economy is doing, you will be too busy serving people to have time to do that.

This is starting to remind me of that old definition of an elephant - a mouse designed by a committee?

If I ask opinions from a big group and follow them all, I guess I might end up with a page that says nothing.
But maybe that would be best, I dunno.

Is there a way I can delete this whole thread?

I had a guy threaten me with a shotgun the other night, and I guess I'm not in a decent mood for this right now...

Sorry for the response yesterday. I was pretty depressed and am starting to get out of it.

I'm gonna take a look at reducing the page down. Thanks. Will show you the results later.

OK, how's this now?

http://ColoradoProcessServers.net

I moved all the particulars ( services we offer ) to a new menu item called "How may we be of service to you?"

Modified the navbar for it, changed the upper right panel a little to give that look and feel, and modified the payment button area spacing slightly. I compacted the whole first page this way and put all the services we offer on the services page, should someone have the time and desire to look into it all.

Better?

Jeez, I think I have it all above the fold now ( in Internet Explorer anyway ) and down to a 15 second read.

If you like it this way, I'll copy the new stuff over to the other pages for consistency.

Much better Mellissa. The only suggestion I have is to incorporate the words Denver Process Servers into the Eagle image so it slaps you in the face when you land on the page. There's a lot of real estate available at the bottom of that image and it's not apparent to me when you land on your page what your all about. Other then that your site is much more easy on the eyes. Nice job.:)
