Hi, I think I am missing something...maybe software? I am trying to build a responsive website cheaply...so I grabbed your Menu Builder at a good price - thanks I then grabbed a responsive web theme for $18 because I read that the menu won't work unless the web page itself is a responsive one. Am I wrong? I was also thinking "Why do I need the menu builder if the theme I bought already has a responsive menu?" Maybe I ripped myself off? So now I am at the editing stage after trying to get my dinosaur brain around how to make this all work and look good in the fastest way possible. I opened the HTML free editor - sorry can't tell you how long I have had it, and find I can't edit the theme. I can't preview the theme because it won't load. My excitement is dying fast and I am wishing it was the 90's again. Do I need to buy the latest HTML editor now? I am so not cashed up right now so am hoping I have over looked something and can use my old HTML program...which is brilliant btw.
Also..how long before a responsive shop theme comes out? no pressure
Ta for any help...really super appreciate it! Have a great day/night and I look forward to hearing from you soon

Hi Fiona,
Your correct that the menu won't be responsive unless the page it's in is responsive. As far as feeling ripped off don't. You will greatly appreciate the menu builders ability to build responsive multi level navigation in just a few clicks. Hard coding this behavior into a webpage existing navigation is not easy. I know the theme you bought has responsive navigation but it's very limited and takes up a lot of real estate at small screen sizes. This is where the menu builder really shines. If you share a link we may be able to help you get your menu working correctly.

I can't hear what I'm looking at.

At least let us know which theme it is, others might have some experience with it.

Thanks for responding OMG I am so lost. I have been trying to get my head around the responsive theme and menu...I have been working online trying to get the page to look like the Responsive Citrus theme and have a menu that is responsive. I can picture it but all I see is this gnomesvillewa.com.au lol. Not cool.
I want the site to function before I customize it beyond buttons...and I am using basic buttons for now.
I changed the .wif files to .png because we can't upload .wifs
I put the background files where i thought they would go...stylesheet file and js file.
The menu seems to work on the http://gnomesvillewa.coffeecup.com/gnomesville.html page (which is the file that was created when I exported my menu from Menu Builder) and when I try to create another .html page from the same file it is just a series of long boxes... gnomesvillewa.com.au
I am understanding that I need to put code into two places on each page of html (head and body)to make the menu appear but I can't even get that to work.
Is it something small I am overlooking? I have been reading up on this and trying lots of different things. I appreciate your help. I feel I am going around in circles atm. Probably making things harder than they really are. Thanks in advance

If your new to responsive design I suggest you start with a theme. Make a backup copy under a different name before you make changes. This way you can always go back. Start slow and change one thing at a time until that item appears the way you want then make a backup of this page and continue on. The one thing you'll benefit from is to keep it simple at first then build on the site as you learn what does what. Adding the responsive menu builder to an existing theme is pretty straight forward. Remove the old <nav> code</nav> and place the menu builders html code in it's place. It will still need some work but it should be close. I would think CC would put up some instructions for doing this at sometime.

Thanks Eric I will go back to the start and alter the pages to suit...the menu can wait. Now to get that responsive theme to work....it's all made for me, how hard can it be, right? lol Catch you later
Have something to add? We’d love to hear it!
