I purchased the RS application yesterday. I intend to make replacement slide shows for my shockwave flash file slide shows on my current VSD site. I understand that the .swf files really do not help whatsoever with SEO. Maybe their titles contribute a small amount of readable text. I used extensively of the alt text feature in the VSD to add to the readable keywords and it was helpful with the SEO .
I noticed that there is an alt entry box on the image part in the design section. Is this good for adding alt text for bot reading to assist in SEO? Is the text that is readable by humans on the image adding to the SEO too? Guess that the title of the slide show comes into consideration for the SEO too?
If this is all true about adding greatly to the SEO from these RS files then that would make them tremendously more desirable than my old .swf slide shows in the VSD.
The center paragraph is full of questions ...

I think the biggest thing you should be considering replacing your .swf slide show for is that no one on any apple products other than Desktops, and some other brands of tablets and phones as well, can see your slide show at all. More to consider there than just the SEO I think. :)

Yes, I did not mention that apple product people can not view swf files. Yes, that is very bad and a great reason to change from them. I have absolutely decided to change from them. I do not need to be reminded or convinced of the importance of changing the swf files or getting rid of them.
Being that i am going to change out the swf files I still have the question about SEO, alt text on images and if the bots can read them and index the content to add to keyword back up from scanned and indexed text?;)
I'm not putting it on the VSD site I am redoing the site to RSD, have the home pg pretty much done, it has no slide shows on it, most other pgs have the slide shows.

Best to just completely ditch anything Flash. Way to many security issues these days, I'm really surprised that it is still around.

The mentioning of the flash is background information to the question. My reply to Jo was not arguing to keep the flash or defend it. I'm sorry that I ever mentioned the flash.
Admin please delete this thread. The flash has nothing to do with the title of the post or the questions in the post. They remain un addressed here in the thread.
I am happy in my logical thinking that I have worked out the answer to my question in my mind.
YES, The alt text in the Responsive content Slider will be read by the scanning bots and indexed to give backup support to the meta keywords of the pg listed on. It wouldn't be very good if it did not have that capability.
Sorry that I asked the question, please delete this thread, Thank you.

If you concern about web search engine optimization techniques make sure you make good use of heading in RCS. They are definitely most important assets. Format your most important text information at top level heading for example heading 1 to 6 to hold important keyword content.
Typically search engine scans your all heading beside page title and meta keywords, which contains rich key-phrases and keywords.

Mansour, Thank you for your reply. Jo and Chefscott, thank you for your replies and sorry that I am so impossible to understand.
I wish that they would open an SEO topic heading so that questions on that matter could be proffered there. Is asking questions about SEO a violation of the forums' rules?
For the web designer SEO is vitally important.
Looking at the elements in the RCS there are the headings 1-6 and the Hero and the text elements and then there is too the alt text entries so it would appear that i can plan and orchestrate a fantastic SEO material in my slide shows that will be a tremendous upgrade from the previously used slide shows which were virtually invisible to the SEO.

CoffeeCup Web Insight is primarily about search engine optimization. Might that program, and its forum, be what is wanted by the second paragraph of the post above?

Perhaps they could put /SEO on the tail end of the Website Insight heading.
I believe that one could ask an SEO question pertinent to the application at hand within the heading of the application at hand. Or, could ask it from the website insight heading. If the person asking did not have that application guess that they would not be asking under that heading.
Guess that I will start asking my SEO questions under the heading of website insight because I do have that application.
It is kind of an after the fact app though to check what you have done. I was asking before it was done in order to get it to fare well under scanning with the website insight. Asking before building in order to prevent having to redo, perhaps.
As it stands I can get a wealth of SEO titles, headings, text paragraphs, alt text, with the responsive content slider, so I am excited about getting on with it.
I should have called it the RCS in the title of the post. I think that the "content" in the app title is not the same as the content that they refer to in SEO. But it all interrelates somehow. Seems to be rich with SEO content.

To be more specific, I understand if your slide stand alone html document but as you most likely going to embed your slide into another HTML document , may I know where on the earth you are going to insert your meta data?

The slider head tag for embedding gives you list of CSS and js only , so the only place you need to add your meta data will be your targeted HTML document not in RCS.

So as I said use your heading element wisely in RCS then add your meta data in your targeted HTML Heading.

That's the best solution I know in this case.
