I would think an https url would help with rankings not lower them. All of the major companies use https like Bank of America or any other secure site. For you to get an https you have to go through a long process to prove you are who you say you are. You also get a lock on all web browsers and a green bar than you would not get on a regular site. I made a sale recently for $2800 and sell regularly over $300 and since I have had my business I rarely get calls just emails. A lot of my customers do not even use paypal or google check out but sometimes send checks or cashier checks and I don't think they would do so if they did not know who I was and that is exactly what having an https does it proves your legitimate. IIf you click on the lock on my site and click on connection it will say my business name is verified in Fort Lauderdale Fl. and if for any reason my site is hacked which could not happen with an https it is backed by a $250,000 insurance by comodo. anyone can make a shop and have a magicjack number and rip people off but I think https just gives a sense of security for clients and it also sets me apart from my competition so I rather go the extra mile and it does not cost much. If im not mistaken having https actually gives you an advantage over sites that dont with search engines atleast that was the advertising that comodo had and one of the reasons I decided to opt for the https. Just my opion.

Uk time, off to bed, https not my area of expertise as i said, Eric or Joann may know more

Personally though from what i was advised, the comodo cetificate is worthwhile, i had one on my cubecart which was https because it collected clients details, but i never had many succesful sales

when i opened my SCCP site with Paypal instead my sales increased by 300% in one month and have climed continually ever since.

I had about 95% of orders in Cubecart stall at the filling out their details stage, i guess my customers prefer the one click no need to type in their details approach, or phone and pay by direct transfer as theres no fees or outside influences.

right off to bed, gone midnight, have fun with SCCP and SCDP it will do you a big favour in the long run, worth the extra £'s anyway

Not making a transaction till the transfer to payment

Most Web customers know that they should look for the https in the URL and the lock icon in their browser when they are making a transaction.

Your home pages do not accept any transactions

your scc shop also does not accept any transactions

Its down to interpretation, i guess your better being https than not, but i am still not sure how it affects your google searches

remember corporate businesses can afford to pay that guy you were going to use for seo $800 a month !!!!

Off to bed, g'night
