I have a web page with text in english, swedish and russian.
The russian text with cyrillic letters shows up as question marks when I open the web page for editing in Coffee Cup Free. When I open the same web page in any word processor it shows the cyrillic letters.
Any hints?

It's probably a doc type issue. What doc type are you declaring?
I can't hear what I'm looking at.
It's easy to overlook something you're not looking for.

Try replacing this...<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8" />
With this...

No change
I am impressed Eric.
I visited your site Carl. I do not pretend to know what Eric is talking about but the site came up in Chrome with a quick time plugin (Where that come from I don't know). But I had the opportunity to translate I clicked yes, it did and I could understand it. Tells me it is Swedish.
Most interesting, I will have to try other foreign language sites.
What I am getting at maybe all sites can be translated if there is a choice of plugin. One for you Eric. I will leave html to VSD. Html is one programming language which to me is illogical, I only wade through it if I have reason.
Although Carl, I am sorry mate, I guess this prattle ain't going to help you much

The question mark ? is sometimes included in themes that come from external sources outside of the HTML Editor. Why it happens I've never figured out, but I've had it happen to a handful of themes so now I just get in the habit of looking for it when I first open a new theme that I got from an outside source. Lots of great themes out there, just that we have to watch for those little quirks that happen. Most likely it's some type of code that is read differently in the HTML Editor than it is read in the editor that the theme creator used. Just delete the question marks and you should be fine
I see the problem... HTML Editor does not support Russian text. You can find the supported languages in
C:\Users\yourusername\AppData\Roaming\CoffeeCup Software
You may want to make a suggestion
http://www.coffeecup.com/forums/html-ed … ml-editor/ here that they add Russian as a supported language.
