Forum design suggestion - Post ID 272486
I suspect that some forum users start a new thread with a query, but fail to see the answers given because
(a) they forget where they posted it, or
(b) they haven't visited the forums for a while, and forget that they posted it, or
(c) they manage to work out a possible solution, and overlook that other solutions may have been provided.
I think it would be useful if it could be arranged that the person who starts a new thread
(a) is automatically subscribed to that thread, or
(b) sees advice to subscribe to that thread.

And....
(d) They are just rude and don't say thank you (yeah you know who you are)!!!
I think back in the day we did the auto-subscription and had a lot of complaints about it and turned it off, but that was probably 10 years ago. Might be worth re-looking at.

If auto-subscription for those who start new threads proved a nuisance to some, perhaps my second option* may be preferable.
