I have only tried the lite version, but I too can't seem to get my form to do what I need it to do. I need it laid out in columns so that everything is lined up. With the flash version I was able to move things wherever I wanted them. With this version everything is in line. If I could do the form in columns I would buy the full version - but I also don't want to pay to have my forms hosted - I want to host them myself.

You can do that if you want Sandi. Just go to the Properties Tab and adjust the Item Width and Padding. You can get up to a 4 column form. Publishing to S-Drive is also not required in the Full version. We only allow publishing to S-Drive in the Lite version. After all , it is free.

If for instance you select check boxes WFB will by default produce three checkboxes at full width of the form
Now reduce the width of that checkbox element to 50% so when you make the second checkbox element and set the width to 50% it will sit neatly beside the other one giving you 6 boxes to select from accross the page.
reducing the width to 33% ish would give you 9 and reducing to 25% would give you 12 accross
I think the same principal applies to most elements
It took me a while to master, but now i find it incredibly easy to shift things around and space them nicely.
Also uploading to my JH server caught me out like lots of others, look for the export folder before uploading

Thanks, but my form is a 5 column form. I need the text input fields lined up under the 5 headings. I adjusted the percentages, padding, etc. and they wouldn't fit, I also adjusted the width of the form. My column headings are: name, grade, gender, age, birth date and I need 5 input fields for each of these. I could just list them, but that's confusing for the person completing the form. I didn't have any problem doing this with the flash form - here's the current coffee cup flash form: http://www.arbcgarland.com/forms/vbs/VB … ration.htm . I've tried several times to recreate this form with the new non-flash version - but no luck. How could this be done?
That url is returning a 404 not found error

I was able to do a 5 column form for ya without any problems. This version took me about 10 minutes to setup:

You could even make this smaller if you combined elements on the same line and adjusted the padding some more. This just gives you a basic understanding that anything is possible.

That's perfect! Now if I can re-create it, I'll buy the program. How were you able to line up the columns and get 5 columns on the form? Did you create the text titles across the top first and then put the text input boxes on the next line? What sizes were the text boxes and the padding? I tried 20% and it and a 700 width form and it kept moving the last items to the next line? There must be a trick that I don't know about.
Hiya Sandi,
The text is all part of each field, they aren't separate. That setup is done doing exactly what Scott said to do in the earlier post. Play with the padding and margins and adjust the width percentage for each element. In other words you have 5 separate elements on each line and you need to adjust each element's settings for all 3 things, width percentage (most likely at 20%), padding and margin. Play with those three things and you'll get pretty close to what you're looking for most of the time. It's not perfect as far as 20% being the minimum, but it's definitely doable.

I just emailed you the saved form file.
